RICKY Gervais has continued to make fun of Hollywood elites by ripping into Joaquin Phoenix’s Golden Globes “planet-saving” tuxedo.
The comedian left the crowd reeling with his opening seven-minute monologue, taking on Harvey Weinstein, ISIS and Jeffrey Epstein, during the awards ceremony.

Although it appeared his comments were a bit much for the A-listers, who grimaced throughout the monologue.
And despite insisting he won’t be returning to host the award ceremony again, the 58-year-old has continued to poke fun at the stars in attendance.
Taking to Twitter, designer Stella McCartney shared a gushing tribute to actor Joaquin.
She acknowledged the star for helping to “make choices for the future of the planet” after reusing the same tuxedo for the entire award season.

She said: “This man is a winner… wearing custom Stella because he chooses to make choices for the future of the planet. He has also chosen to wear this same Tux for the entire award season to reduce waste. I am proud to join forces with you… x Stella”.
The post didn’t amiss with the After Life star, who commented: “That’s nothing. I darn my own socks and you should see the state of my f**king underpants.”
Fans seemingly agreed with Ricky’s sarcasm, with one writing: “Praise the man….he’s been wearing the same tux all award season! They really do live in the real world don’t they I’ve had the same suit 10+ years….medal please.”
Another added: “I wonder why the elites in Hollywood would feel if they heard the average person (wait for it) wears jeans/sweatshirts/pajamas/etc multiple times before washing them! Gasp! Wearing the same tux.. give me a break. Welcome to the world of “everyone else”.

During his acceptance speech for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Joaquin addressed the climate crisis.
After scooping the award, he said: “Hopefully, we can be unified & actually make some changes.
“It’s great to vote, but sometimes we have to take that responsibility on ourselves and make changes and sacrifices in our own lives … we don’t have to take private jets to Palm Springs for the awards.”
